Chemical safety

The Chemicals Act and the prohibitions and handling requirements for chemical substances based on it form an important part of current environmental law and combine the aims of environmental protection with those of health protection. By virtue of their application to specific substances and across all media (air, water, soil), they also represent a significant element of consumer protection. The objectives are to identify data on the hazardous properties of chemical substances, assess their hazard potential and take the necessary measures to protect humans and the environment.
