The Ministry’s seven departments are responsible for sustainability strategy, climate protection, resource efficiency, circular economy and environmental technology, international cooperation, energy transition and the phase-out of nuclear power, soil protection, water conservation and flood protection, nature conservation and maintaining biodiversity.

The efficient use of energy, resources and soils, and the application of modern environmental technologies are the fundamental criteria guiding our actions aimed at maintaining an intact environment, protecting our climate, and safeguarding Baden-Württemberg as an attractive business location. This is an exciting and rewarding task.

Climate change does not stop at national borders. Hence, a close alliance with the international community, in addition to an effective climate policy at home, is crucial. The Under2 Coalition is an important example of such global cooperation.
