Modern sewage treatment plants can only be operated by suitably trained and skilled personnel. The development of a training module for the water sector in Croatia is intended to support the preparation and training of professional sewage treatment personnel.
The Training and Competence Center (TCC) Danubius in Ulm received funding from the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector in October 2014 for the development of this module. With this training in mind the company will produce a six-week modular course with all the required documents (lectures, handouts, exercises and tests). TCC Danubius emerged from a German-Croatian pilot project in the waste water field and was founded in March 2014 as a non-profit company.
The plan is to disseminate the experiences gained in Croatia in the fields of training, continuing professional and vocational development and in technology transfers to other countries along the Danube – owing to the shared language, this will mainly concern other countries which previously formed part of Yugoslavia. The experience acquired in this context will contribute to improving the quality of water in south-east Europe.
