In Romania, LEEN is committed in the establishment of Learning Energy Efficiency Networks, as well. In September 2016, Karlsruhe-based LEEN GmbH applied for public funding of an energy efficiency project in Romania at the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg after finalizing previous projects in Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo. The project was funded by capacities from the EUSDR fund (= EU strategy for the Danube region) of the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg and accompanied by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector.
The aim of the project is to estimate economically reasonable potentials in energy efficiency in Romanian businesses and institutions and to find appropriate collaborates (sponsors, moderators, and advisors in the energy sector) for the so-called Learning Energy-Efficiency Networks (LEEN).
LEEN GmbH will adjust its internet-based management-system (LEEN-Web) to the Romanian necessities and train the partners of the project (moderators, advisors in the energy sector). The initial meeting took place on 28th and 29th of December. The project was completed in December 2017. Cooperation with the Romanian partners, such as Steinbeis Network Romania shall be continued.
