As its economy and industry develop rapidly, Turkey and Baden-Württemberg work closely together in the fields of energy and environmental issues. A delegation from Baden-Württemberg under the leadership of Minister President Winfried Kretschmann visited Ankara and Istanbul in October 2012. The Minister of the Environment Franz Untersteller also took part with representatives of leading environmental technology and energy companies from Baden-Württemberg.
Building a sustainable energy system
The objective was to fathom out the possibilities for future cooperation between the state of Baden-Württemberg and Turkey in the spheres of energy and environment. Building a sustainable energy system by using renewable energies and increasing energy efficiency offers huge opportunities for both countries.
