The new H2BW platform will provide a visible and cross-sectoral umbrella for Baden-Württemberg's many hydrogen and fuel activities. The focus of its tasks is the implementation of measures of the hydrogen roadmap, which describes the state's path to becoming a leading location for hydrogen and fuel technologies. However, the platform will also take on the planning, coordination and implementation of complementary programs and projects.
The H2BW platform is to play a central role at the interface between research, development and marketing of new technologies and new business models. It is thus a partner for research institutions, municipalities and companies and drives the development of a climate-friendly, sustainable hydrogen economy in Baden-Württemberg. The aim is to rapidly tap the sales potential of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in Baden-Württemberg of around nine billion euros.
The new platform is located in the form of an office at the State Agency for New Mobility Solutions and Automotive Baden-Württemberg e-mobil BW GmbH.
3.5 million will be available until 2024 to set up and operate the H2BW platform. The money comes from the financial reserve "Zukunftsland BW - Stärker aus der Krise".
